Phil Stiles vs Matt Steady - Plaid and Lead - FREE CD

Having added guitar, backing vocals, and synth to Matt Steady’s most recent effort, Velvet & Gold, Phil Stiles (frontman of Final Coil) felt that a number of songs could be taken in a bold new direction.

With Matt’s kind permission, Phil was let loose on the original multitracks for the album. Stripping away the layers, he created something darker and more glacial, while remaining true to the emotional core of the original album.

The result is Plaid & Lead, a four-track EP that was designed to complement rather than supplant the original – a mirror universe version, where icy synths replace the warmth of Matt’s folk-infused guitar work.
